I say: Eat fat in order to lose fat and gain strength!
But how on earth is this possible? How could you lose fat if you're encouraged to eat fat?! Enter the three types of fat: Monounsaturated, Polyunsaturated, Saturated and the man-made Trans Fat.
Trans Fat: If the devil would morph into food to screw up the health of mankind, then Trans Fat is the devil in flesh. Through the process of hydrogenation, hydrogen atoms are added to (typically) polyunsaturated vegetable oils with the help of a nickel catalyst. Contrary to popular belief, high temperature frying and reusing oil does not produce Trans fats. These fats can only be produced when nickel is added and hydrogen is forced through an oil at high pressure. The most popular Trans Fats are French Fries and Margarine. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!
Saturated: Animal products (such as meat, poultry, seafood, eggs, dairy products, lard and butter), and coconut, palm and other tropical oils. Basically safe for daily consumption. Consume them moderately.
Polyunsaturated: Vegetable oils (such as safflower, corn, sunflower, soy and cottonseed oils), nuts and seeds. A healthy heart loves to draw in on saturated fats such as coconut oil, and stearic acid found in cocoa and beef when in times of effectively handling stress.
Monounsaturated: My favorite fat. Besides protecting your heart, decreasing your risk for certain cancer AND helping you maintain a healthy weight, sources of monounsaturated fat taste great! It increases our testosterone levels naturally and burns belly fat in the process! Now this fat is a win-win wonder. Great sources of this are: Olive oil, avocadoes, almond nuts and butter, cashew nuts and macadamia nuts.
*Olive oil can be mixed with your protein shake and it gives a nutty-yummy flavor and texture*
So to wrap up this long and boring article...
- Try to eat foods that are rich in Monounsaturated Fats everyday to maximize its benefits.
- Avoid Trans Fats at all costs! This fat makes you fat! Never use Margarine for cooking! If you can't let go of French Fries (like me), I suggest you eat them once a week only just to satisfy your cravings.
So that's about it for now. Stay tuned.
